What once would have been seen as a sign of the Apocalypse has become increasingly common lately, with EA announcing that it will publish new IPs such as Dead Space and Mirror's Edge this year. Now they've gone and announced two more publishing deals with somewhat unlikely partners Epic and Grasshopper, presumably for release in 2009.

The first game, made by Epic's People Can Fly studio (Who Developed Painkiller for the Xbox and PC) is an Action game coming to the 360, PS3 and PC, which will hopefully feature a gun that fires shurikens and lightning, though EA haven't commented on any aspect of the game so far.

The other, perhaps more interesting, game seems to be a large joint effort from Grasshopper studios and Q Entertainment (Experienced with acid trip-style music-based games such as EEEE, Rez HD, Lumines and Gunpey) being directed, of course, by Suda 51 and produced by Shinji Mikami (God Hand, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry). Even more amazing is that the game will apparently be released on the 360, PS3, PC AND the Wii. Whether it'll be the exact same game, or a slightly dumbed down version on the Wii remains to be seen, but the lack of a PS2 version at least gives hope. The game promises to be an all new Action-Horror game, and if you're an expert in educated guesses you'd probably assume that it'll have some sort of Trance music in it.

Now all we need is for Grasshopper to announce a collaboration with Epic games and those horsemen should come running

I'm pretty interested in how the People Can Fly game turns out too. Apparently Epic said something along the lines of 'make something like Painkiller, but even more over the top', and Painkiller was set in Hell and has a gun that shoots shurikens and lightning...
