| Right well now that E3's over and bugger all got announced we can think about what games we want to get that are coming out soon. Ignoring all the really obvious ones (GoW 2, Fable 2 etc...) there are a few that I'll probably get now that I wasn't intending to before.
Too Human
Lots of people were talking about it, but I was never really that interested. Now that I've played the demo I think it's definitely worth a try. The movement feels very slippery and the combat's a bit simple, but it seems like a good bit of Sci-Fi RPG-ing fun.
Star Wars: Force Unleashed
Probably the most obvious one, but I still wasn't really sure about whether or not to get it. The physics looked amazing, but Star Wars games have been a bit iffy in the past. After seeing some more videos though, the combat looks pretty good and varied and of course I really want to crush an AT-AT into a ball and slam in into the floor...
Dead Space
EA making a very original looking survival horror game, set in space? Oh look, the four horsemen. Fancy that. Looks pretty good though, nice and atmospheric, apparently has some great puzzles in zero gravity, and enemies that all need to be taken out in different ways rather than the SHOOT HIM IN THE HEAD zombie strategy.
Mirror's Edge
First person Assassin's Creed-style acrobatics without the boring 'Hold R+A to win' control scheme. Less open world and more level based, but it seems to have lots of alternate routes and stuff. From the sound of it all the sliding, jumping, climbing and balancing is completely controlled by you with some nice, easy to use controls. And it's the only game I know of other than Halo where crouching while jumping makes you tuck your legs in to get over stuff...
Only other one I can think of that's surprised me (Well actually I just hadn't heard of it until recently) is Brutal Legend, but there's nothing but a short pre-rendered trailer so far. It's being made by Double Fine though! (Psychonauts)
Edit: To quote the game's website 'Devastate with your guitar! Play face-melting solos that actually melt the faces of your enemies'. I don't think face-melting has been done in a game before

| Borderlands is looking promising. 4 player co-op open world FPS RPG with lots of Halo-esque vehicle combat (which I love). There's a cam video of a demonstration somewhere.
Dead Space which I'd ignored previously due to it being in-house EA, also looks interesting.
Fallout 3, Fable 2 and Gears 2 all look nice.

| Final Fantasy 13 and Gears 2 are the highest on ma list and really the only things I am really really anticipating.
Portal 2, Samba De Amigo, Wii Sport resort and Megaman9 all have me interested though.
I'll be keeping an eye on sonic unleashed, not getting my hopes high for it though.

| Well I kinda meant this year, and FF XIII probably won't be out until 2010 or something, knowing PS3 development times combined with Square's translation times >_>
Megaman 9... I'll probably get it, but I'm gonna be constantly disappointed that they didn't use the amazing Megaman 8 sprites in favour of shitty NES graphics. It's probably just so they don't have to make any effort drawing up and animating anything, so they can just knock it out in a few months. The series has moved on a lot in ways other than graphics though, and going back to the NES gameplay's gonna suck too...
Hadn't heard about Borderlands, but it looks pretty damn impressive. Very Halo-y, yes and I must admit that I really missed the big open areas from the first Halo. Halo 3's areas were still pretty big but they still felt a bit linear... The procedural gun creation sounds (and looks) pretty insane and of course you can't really go wrong with 4 player co-op. Definitely worth keeping an eye on. E3 demo video here if anyone wants it

| Ah, there's nothing really. There's that Dragon one that's like Baldur's Gate and Patapon 2, and... yeah. I'm done.
Gonna be a year for settling down with the oldies.
