The new forum should now be totally operational (I think). So feel free to test/help me debug.

Please tell me if you get any problems.

Would it be possible to make it so that you can just use the whole youtube url rather than having to cut out the ID yourself?

EDIT: LBs turning into Ns

I spent ages trying to get it to work before. I'll have another go now though because I know it's something loads of people were messing up.

The line breaks only turn to n's when you submit a post. Some of the encoding is getting lost through the ajax =/ Thanks for reminding me though.

Just realised the preview button doesn't work on the forum either.

9.5. Pretty average. (:3)

Edit: Still does the n thing when editing posts
'nother one: Seems like some of the numbers of posts on the left are wrong... Wallpapers thread says 1 when there's 3 posts in it ;

Its because the updating the posts field only happens in the new forum, so if you post on the old one it wont update. (hint hint, everyone come to the new forum >_> I'll sort out the editing thing tomorrow.

Managed to get a hold of a new script for handling videos. Now you can just enter the URL of most popular video sites (youtube, google video, metacafe, game trailers etc) in the new video tag and it'll do its thing. If it doesn't exist it'll provide a link.

You just reminded me I haven't checked the site in IE in ages.

Be right back after I cry.

edit: It's....it's....beautiful ;-; A page of mine that works in IE ;-;

New last edit thing as you can see. 'tis better than having it append it on the end every time you edit

Also fixed the line break issue with editing.

Post previewing done.

Reply box now remembers how big you last had it, so if you like it big you can keep it that way.

[li]Fixed a few more forum issues
[li]Added a new page feature for entries (will be useful for guides/long reviews and articles)
[li]Done the registration page. It just asks you for your nick, email and password because it's annoying if you visit a site likeW8 and want to post a quick comment, only to be presented with a huge registration page. It also automatically logs you in for extra laziness!
[li]Editing a post now loads the full text editor. If it takes a while to come up don't worry because it's the server and won't be like that when the server is fixed or we're back on the old one.

Apologies for not much done in the past day.

I can't sign in on Safari. My username and password just end up in the URL when I try.

Hmmmm maybe Safari has problems with AJAX. Have you got the latest version of Safari/Javascript enabled? (Thanks for reporting this)

Well I delayed installing the very latest general OS X updates but I'll install them now and give it another go. Pretty certain I'm up to speed though. I had the same problem on Cubed3 too.

Oh, forgot to mention that Javascript is enabled.

Must be that Safari can't handle the AJAX.....but that's ridiculous....I'm pretty sure jQuery and AJAX work on Safari. *Investigates*

Looks like an issue with Safari some people had on C3, you can revert back to post as you're refreshing the page to revert the user elements.

On C3 Ajax would refresh the reply boxes and logged in links using unique IDs on each element, but as lots of Mac users had problems I reverted it back to using post to login instead.

I think Ajax is great, but only when needed - by doing the loading bar thing, then refreshing the page to finish the login it's only adding extra time then a straight refresh.

I'm confused as to what you mean....as the moment I'm submitting the entered info to a php script which sets up the cookie and then refreshes the page (I couldn't be bothered with the hassle of setting up reply forms and what not).

Since the new version is pretty robust at the front-end, how about we point the domain to it? Every time I go to the old site to use an editor function that's not migrated yet I think of how much better first impressions of the new version would be.

I agree with Megadan, needs the old smilies. Especially ol' Whipper.

BTW, no more 'Writer' or 'Admin' tags?

Apologies for haltage in the sites progress, I've been totally addicted to MS again >_>;

As far as moving the domain over, there seems to be a problem on the new host which causes the page to refresh randomly, at least it does for me and it drives me mad. There's also the fact that the database is on this server and makes the forum posts section take a fucking eternity to load. I want to mvoe it all onto this server but unfortunately Joe can't upgrade to PHP5 which I need, yet.
